When we moved to Texas, the last thing that we expected was snow. It happened the first year we lived in Port Isabel, Texas and we were told that it had been decades since the heavens released a blanket of white on that part of the world.
Three months into settling the Piney Wood Ranch, we would have never expected that we would have seen such a scene. The kids were all thrilled to see the snow and the magic it brings. It started falling mid afternoon Sunday with big fluffy flakes and we enjoyed walking through the woods and seeing it with a whole new set of eyes. Everything was still, and quiet, and beautiful.
Even the animals seemed to enjoy the scene. There was remarkably less eating and they seemed to enjoy the change. Too bad it comes with cold; hopefully they will all keep warm tonight.
Dad, when you come out here, bring your camera, it is absolutely gorgeous! – Alex
Christian was up again on Monday morning early, out playing in the snow. What wonderful memories it brings to have new experiences in familiar places. By the end of the day, there were a few skiffs of snow, left and everything is soggy now. But what a gift it was to experience the winter wonderland while it lasted!
